CMOS image sensor is the best choice for high time-resolution imaging due to the combination of high frame rate, low read noise and good sensitivity. Also for steady-state imaging, sensor with big optical format and low dark current can capture wide sky range without SNR degradation from dark current even with very long exposure. Users can benefit from Gpixel’s high dynamic range sensors to detect more objects with different apparent magnitude from high contrast images.
To avoid electrons beam damage sample, some applications use very low electrons intensity which requires image sensor has high sensitivity and low noise to detect the faint signal with good SNR. And to record a live video more efficiently for material structure, high frame rate with high resolution sensors help researchers capture more data within limited time. Gpixel provides sensors with removable glass lid and no micro-lens, suitable for FOP bonding.
For multispectral applications like material component analysis, because the emitted light is in wide wavelength, the front-side image sensors can’t detect effectively due to the low response outside of visible light.
With Gpixel’s state off the art back-side-illuminated sCMOS sensors, the excellent QE among wide range from UV to NIR and high dynamic range more than 90dB make them able to detect more spectral data with good precision.
